graduate cupcake

Written on April 11th, 2009 by Kim

dsc_0803We just launched two new custom graduation invitations, “graduation girl” and “graduation guy.” I know, I know, but once you look at them you’ll understand. One is pink and the other is blue and they are perfect for preschool, high school or college graduation parties.

Okay, so to the cupcakes. These were created by Melanie Hess and they are oh so cute! Here’s what you do. First, ice red velvet cupcakes with chocolate frosting. For the caps, turn a Reeses Peanut Butter cup upside down and top it with a Ghiradelli chocolate square. For the finishing touch, pipe a tassel in your graduate’s school colors (tint white icing and use a #2 tip) and top with a mini M&M for the button.

Happy baking!

introducing “deep blue sea”

Written on April 10th, 2009 by Kim

deep-sea-theme-frontimageI’m soooooo excited about the addition of our “deep blue sea” custom invitation and party decor. When my oldest son turned one we celebrated with this theme and so as you might imagine it holds a special place in the collection. Plus, I have a ton of ideas I can’t wait to share in the coming weeks to round out your underwater adventure.

If you’re wondering what my former, or maybe other, “special” one is, it’s the “bugs and butterflies;” the theme we used to celebrate my youngest son’s first birthday. {wink}

Check our new design out, and as always, we would love your feedback on this invitation design as well as any of our others.

Plus, if you have a theme design you’re searching for and can’t find, we want to know that too! You can e-mail us at ideas@celebrationshoppe.com or post a comment here.

sweet treats centerpiece

Written on April 10th, 2009 by Kim

candycenterpiece_cathome1We’re always looking for great ideas, especially if they’re simple. This one comes to us from a fellow planner, Chris from Celebrations at Home, who shared a few of our baby shower ideas {giggle}. Well of course we had to peruse her site and when we found this fun idea we just had to share it!

Notice not only the adorable lollipops, but the large candies in the background. Those appear to be Styrofoam on dowels that are wrapped in colored cellophane. Very smart! And what about the colorful pipe cleaner curly Q fillers. A centerpiece that would go great with our ”sweet treats too” or “movie night” themes.
