how to monogram a pumpkin + video

Ever carve a fabulous pumpkin or make an adorable pumpkin craft only to have the darn thing whither up on you?! I have! But not this year.

JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores has Funkins! You know, the foam pumpkins that look so much like real pumpkins that you almost forget they’re not. Yep, those.

Well I wanted to monogram a pumpkin for my mantel, one that I could use year after year, so I gathered a few supplies with the help of my friends at JoAnn.

And guess what?! JoAnn wants to give a lucky reader a bit of holiday crafting help too! At the bottom of this post I’m giving away a $50 gift card to JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores to buy anything you like. {giddy}

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own monogrammed pumpkin just in time for your Thanksgiving guests arrival:

  • Funkin pumpkin from Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores
  • Martha Stewart Crafts hole punch (mine has three sizes to choose from, I used the largest size)
  • Print out of your initial (I used Word and tested a few sizes on my pumpkin to see what worked best)
  • Tape
  • Optional – Martha Stewart Habanaro and Metallic Copper Craft Paint

And here’s a little how to video tutorial showing how you how to make a monogrammed pumpkin and while you’re there, subscribe to my new youtube channel:
