Hello again, everyone! It’s Kristie, and I’m excited to be back to share a fun birthday idea — a classic children’s book party!
My son, Kenton, was an early reader — in fact, his first word was “book.” I designed this party with him and all his little book-loving friends in mind. My design inspiration started with this bookworm owl invitation, which is part of my collection exclusively for Minted.
Playing off the owl’s glasses, I found these fun geek-chic “toy” reading glasses by Loftus. They’d make such cute party favors — and an adorable photo op.
Since we’re talking classic party, what could be more classic than cookies and milk? DIY iced alphabet cookies from designmom.com, and milk served in vintage bottles, available at dressmycupcake.com, would be perfect on your dessert table.
Stack books as creative food pedestals, and wrap them in colored paper that coordinates with your party decor (tutorial found at designmom.com). Then use pages from old books to make these adorable pinwheels for cupcakes from bhg.com.
And I couldn’t resist this smart and sophisticated little owl t-shirt from Boden!
Visit me on Minted for more invitation and stationery ideas. And as always, we hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
