Planning a construction theme birthday party?! Yesterday I shared a darling Construction Themed Birthday Cake and today I’m sharing all the rest of the party details. So if you have a little digger in the family, make sure you pin this page for lots of party inspiration!
I love the little construction signs and those amazing cookies! This mom, Lauren of Ellen Jay Events, is a cookie master!
You ask, “What about construction theme birthday party games, activities and favors?” Well she has those all covered too, from coloring activities to a prize board. This mom thought of everything to keep her little workers busy!
Details straight from the hostess, Lauren of Ellen Jay Events:
This was for my son Sam’s 2nd birthday. I decided to go with a dump truck construction theme because he is crazy about trucks right now. Last year for his first birthday I did a Little Man theme with bow ties and mustaches in pastel colors so this year I wanted to go a little bit bolder with the orange and yellow and lots of chocolate to represent dirt and mud and all the things little boys love and showcase some of his interests! Sam absolutely had a blast dressing up as a construction worker in the photo booth and playing dump trucks with all of his friends in the sandbox. And a month later, he is still talking about, “my birthday party”, “dump trucks” and “dirt” so I think it was a success!
For the sweets I wanted to focus on lots of chocolate to resemble dirt/mud with pops of orange and yellow. They consisted of chocolate cake and cupcakes with chocolate buttercream, “dirt cups” – layers of brownies, chocolate pudding and crushed oreos, sugar cookies in the shapes of dump trucks, hard hats, construction cones and the #2, homemade caramel corn, chocolate dipped pretzel rods, Reese’s Pieces and Whoppers.
The party activities included a coloring station with crayons and hard hats for all the kids, a photo booth with props, and a “pin the load on the dump truck” game with a prize wall. For party favors all the kids got a sand bucket and shovel with a dump truck, stickers and bubbles.
The invitation/printables were ordered on etsy from KM Thomas Designs
