10 delicious brownie recipes

Hi everyone, it;s Bridget!

I’m a sucker for a great brownie recipe! Actually, I’m a sucker for anything chocolate, but brownies are my ultimate weakness! {smirk}

From simply sweet to richly decadent, I collected my favorite brownie recipes to share:

Does anyone else have a chocolate craving now?! {wink}

Of course, I wanted to share the Brownie Bite Kisses that Kim made for a sweet Mother’s Day treat. How do you stop with just one of these lovelies?  And for those sweet lovers who aren’t so sweet on chocolate {gasp}, I added the Orange Brownies from Laughing Spatula to round out our mix.

healthy lunches

fun food ideas for healthy lunches

Hey everyone, it’s Bridget today!

I’ve got healthy lunches on the brain since my Kindergartener just had her first lunch at school today, normally she’s just half-day. {sniff}

Daily packing with healthy lunch recipes can be a challenge with three kids; and this time of year I feel almost out of ideas and I’m looking for some fresh inspiration for what to pack for lunch.

Kids eat better when they think it’s fun (even if it’s a green veggie!). And what kid doesn’t love to play with their food?! So I rounded up nine fabulous lunch box finds to share:

  • Tasty Bugs via Nestle Kitchens are sure to have your kiddo bugging out when he opens his lunch box {smirk}
  • String Cheese Pencils via Moneywise Moms are just “write” for any lunch box! I know, but I’m on a roll!
  • Sick of sandwiches? Tortellini Salad via Parents is just one a long list of alternate lunch box ideas
  • Last Day of School lunch via Bento-logy is a charming way to make an impression
  • Owl Cookie Cutter sandwich via Cookie Cutter lunches will make any lunch a hoot! OK! I promise I’ll stop now

Sometimes a lunch box just needs a key snack or treat to make it exciting:

 And since you’ve spent the time and energy to make a fun and healthy kid’s lunch, don’t forget to add a little note to your child’s lunch box. We gave these away at the beginning of the school year, but they’re great for the end of the year too!

administrative assistant day

Hi everyone, it’s Bridget!

Last week I shared some of my great finds for  Teacher Appreciation week, but I can’t forget how much our fabulous Administrative Assistants do, too!

This week is Administrative Assistant week; the actual day is April 24th this year, but trust me, they will appreciate it any day. {grin}

If you’re like me and get a bit wrapped up in life and need a great, last-minute gift idea, I have a few fabulous ideas to share. Monogrammed paint cans from Fit, Crafty, Stylish & Happy are a super simple way to spice up a clear craft paint can and you can use scrapbook paper you already have on hand. Just fill them with any goodies that you like! (She made them for teachers, but I think they are perfect for all those other important people who help make our kids’ schools fantastic.)

Our mascot is an owl, so I was thrilled to find this adorable Owl treat bag from Lisa Storms. The sweet tag line could be anything you like, too.  If you prefer something a with a little more pizzazz, these DIY coasters from Mixed Method would be just the thing for your administrative assistant. I envision mine in our school colors! You could also kick up a sweet card with this fabulous Candy Apple card from BoBunny. What a great way to reuse those old button containers!

My favorite idea is this absolutely fabulous mini clipboard and magnet tutorial  at Blooming Where I’m Planted. What administrative assistant doesn’t use Post-It Notes?!

And last, but not least, I adore this sweet beaded vase, aka Bring on the Bling from Julie Mulligan at 1800Flowers.

As always, we hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate! And Happy Administrative Assistant Appreciation Week!

It’s Bridget, again! Did you know Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week in May?

Kim thought that since I’ve been blessed to be “room mom” for all three of my children and get to work with their amazing teachers, I should share my favorite ideas to thank teachers for their hard work!

While I love a good gift card, I prefer to share gifts a bit more personal with those who work so tirelessly help shape my children. So today I’m sharing a few of the great finds that have inspired me:

I also wanted great gifts for male teachers, since two of my children have wonderful men leading the class. These are a few of my favorites:

Hi everyone! It’s Bridget! Kim is out of town, busy with her new craft videos at the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores studio, so I’m sharing a bit today!

This week is Spring break and in our house, that means lots of fun Easter crafts for kids to stay occupied! What better way to brighten our dreary snow-filled Ohio days than with simple, colorful crafts? Inspired by my 10-year old’s love of sock monkeys, I found these ridiculously cute sock bunnies. Hop on over {I know, I’m a riot} to see the whole tutorial.

DIY Halloween tree ornaments

All Hallows Eve is just days away! {eek} And, as my baby girl reminded me this morning, “What kid doesn’t like Halloween candy?!” Can you tell she’s my little sugar junkie?

For her, Halloween is all about the candy and other assorted goodies, but I love the holiday for it’s fabulous decorations! From ghoulish and gruesome to sweetly spooky, whatever your style, there’s always something exciting to put out.

This year, our friends at Cricut Project Center sent us some adorable DIY 3-D Halloween ornament ideas that I wanted to share. I just love the little purple bat ornament — he’s the perfect embellishment for a Halloween party or home decor!

The jack-o-lantern ornament and spider ornament are too cute. But wouldn’t the sweet little ghost be lovely with our Candy Corn Halloween party printable collection?! If you join us on facebook you can download the entire collection for free. Plus ALL of our other Halloween printables are 50% off in the Shoppe right now!

basketball birthday bash

When Paula from Party Like Paula sent us her son, Jake’s, Basketball Birthday Bash, I knew it was a slam dunk! {wink} She did a fabulous job transforming this classic basketball theme (Jake’s favorite sport, of course!) into a party with some punch.

From the strikingly simple color palette of black and white referee stripes with basketball orange, to the scoreboard backdrop over the dessert table, Paula scores big with the little touches that make a big impact. My absolute favorite item, though, is the DIY basketball dessert stands she crafted using mini basketballs and frisbees!

Other note-worthy party details include a fun DIY door wreath, balloon pillars, basketball centerpiece… all items you’ll want to bounce on over to Party Like Paula to see!

Happy Birthday, Jake!

 As always, we hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and CELEBRATE!
