balloon inspired birthday party

In my last post I shared our new balloon birthday party collection (shop invitation and printable party decor) and today I’m sharing the lovely client party we created this printable birthday collection for.

This beautiful family belongs to Francesca of the SITS Girls. I just can’t get over how adorable her kiddos are!

Francesca kept them and their friends busy with face painting,

a magic show, an outdoor viewing of the Disney movie Up!, a s’ mores dessert bar and good old fashion playground time! What kid wouldn’t love this party?!

Here’s a snapshot of the party decor details. For more, hop over to my balloon birthday party printables post. Or head into the shoppe to discover one of our other 76 collections!

A big thank you to Fran for letting us be a small part of her daughter’s big day and to Leslie of Green Vintage Photography for capturing the day! The beautiful smiles say it all! (By the way, Leslie’s in the Sacramento area. If you’re in the market, you simply must see her portfolio! )

Happy Monday everyone and as always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!

rocketship {cake} to the moon

Our customer, Helen of Bonito Design, sent over these pictures and I’m in love with this cake! It’s a replica of my space birthday party collection rocket ship design and the baker, Ruthy’s Cakes, did a fabulous job! Not only is the cake lovely, but the board with the partial Earth is the perfect display. And I’m sure Aaron, the birthday boy, was over the moon for it! {wink}

Here are a few more details styled by Helen:

{Thanks so much Helen for sharing Aaron’s big day with us! You did a lovely job!}

Chace’s kite birthday party

Isn’t this little guy adorable?! Oh my!

For his first birthday, Chace’s mom, Michelle, chose to host his big day at a local park and she used the kite designs from my Tree House collection to embellish his cupcakes, bubble favors and to dress up the sandwiches.

And how cute are these little jars that say “Worm wishes on my bug day!”

Happy birthday Chace!

Thanks so much Michelle and Dad for sharing Chace’s party with us and for allowing us to be a small part of his big day!

As always, I hope you’re inspired!

Our cupcake wrappers topped with fun pom poms and more of our straw slips.

And now for the activities. Dinosaur digs.

Vincenzo’s mad scientist party

I absolutely LOVE to see pictures from moms that have been inspired by my parties and our party supplies. You can find our science party supplies in the shoppe (invitations, thank you notes and party supplies)! Rachel from Mrs. Mouthy hosted this fabulous party for her son Vincenzo and wow did she go all out! That cake alone is just too fun and would be a perfect idea for a Halloween party too! But I think my favorite is the fruit molecules. Too clever!

And not only did she have frightenly fun MAD scientist goodies, she had a number of simple and super fun science experiments for the kiddos. Hop over to the Mrs. Mouthy blog to see all the details!

customer: a tested hypothesis

I love to see little scientists in action and at Kenton’s six birthday party a few weeks ago, he and his friends bubbled, poured and tested to prove their hypothesis: science birthday parties bubble over with fun!

Kristie did a wonderful job of decorating and planning the experiments. She used our science party printable collection and our orange and white polka dot table decor. And she raved about our custom science beaker and element butter cookies (baked and shipped from our partners at  Sweet Tooth Cottage). Told you guys they were yummy! {Thanks so much for letting us share Kenton’s birthday Kristie!}

customer: Hayden is mad for science

I actually planned to show you more of our recent art party photo shoot today, until I received this fabulous mad scientist party from our customer, Cindy. She and the birthday boy, Hayden, planned this party together for almost a year. In her words, “Hayden loves science and wanted his friends to enjoy some fun science experiments.”

As those who stop in often know, my son Alex was my inspiration for our science collection (my many posts showing his party last fall) and it just thrills me to see Hayden and his friends having so much fun.

The kids received goggles and lab coats at the “Scientist Check-in Station,” then went on to go through a retinal scan performed by Hayden using a large glow stick and finally received a mini makeover (aka mad scientist hair) before entering the laboratory (aka the backyard). Hayden’s dad, Steve, was the head “Mad Scientist” and led all the experiments with his very own lab coat and name tag, Dr. so and so. {Love that!}

The kids got to perform several experiements. Isn’t the slime fabulous! Like me, Cindy picked up a ton of supplies from Steve Spangler Science.

And this one is a carbon dioxide bubbles experiment. In Cindy’s words “Carbon dioxide bubbles were made using a ‘special’ jar purchased from Steve Spangler Science. Steve had to use dry ice to make this experiment work. It was a big hit! The kids loved wearing the glove that made the carbon dioxide bubble not burst. The kids also did an experiment to identify the different density of liquids. They just loved seeing the magic of the colors separating!”

Here’s a shot of Hayden and his fellow scientists. Happy Birthday Hayden! And thank you Cindy for allowing us to share Hayden’s big day. You did a terrific job!

customer: Katie Ann turns 3

I really enjoy receiving pictures from customers. It just makes my day to see those happy little faces and all the smart details the parents pull together.

Just recently we received a note from our customer, Jen. She wrote “Thank you so much for the ideas and inspiration! From the invitations to the how-to tulle napkin rings, my daughter’s 3rd birthday was full of your touches. I hope you like the painting we made based on the princess castle theme.”

I was thrilled when I opened the pictures and saw that she had taken our princess castle collection design and made it into this beatutiful painting embellished with tiny jewels. Such talent Jen and her mom have!

Jen did a fabulous job of decorating those blank rooms you get at play places.  They typically give you very little time to set up so that tells me that Jen is one organized mom!

For the princess placesetting, Jen purchased our princess castle printables and pink and green polka dot plates. For the prince placesetting, she made the napkin ring, a friend of hers made the beverage wrapper and straw slip to match, and those fun crowns are from Chocolate Cake Club.

And last but never least, my very favorite part, a lovely picture of the birthday girl. Isn’t she just adorable with all those bouncy curls?! Happy Birthday Katie Ann! {Thanks again Jen for allowing us to share.}

As always, I hope you’re inspired!

press: Totts magazine features train collection

Totts, Fresno California’s Lifestyle Magazine for Modern Moms, hosted a real “All Aboard” birthday bash last month for a handsome little guy, Reed, who is just in love with trains. I was so honored when I learned that the editors chose our train birthday party collection for the big day!

That’s Reed and a little friend on the first page of the article, those are our custom train birthday invitations, thank you cards, table decor and printables on the second page of the article, and on the third is a lovely cake created by a local vendor, Stade Mueller. She did such a beautiful job I had to give you a closer look at that fondant train. How adorable is the heart shape coming out of the smokestack?!

You can read the entire article here and you can see a few more pictures on Tottsmag.com. Happy Friday everyone!

customer: princess Nicole is 4

A very good friend of mine hosted a prince & princess party for her beautiful little girl a few months ago with the decor, printables and custom cookies from my princess collections: prince and princess and princess castle. We even created a few new printables just for the occasion, including

bottle wrappers (this printable includes this castle design and our white crown on hot pink dots, not shown),

favor tags,

cello toppers,

and dessert labels.

Back to the party, the little prince charmings went home with castle cookies and these sword/ax combos (my boys of course used them on each other!) and Nicole’s royal court went home with crown cookies, tiaras and some darling tulle wands (seen in the first image) that her mommy, Raquel, whipped up.

And I just had to share a few pics of the birthday girl having way too much fun dressed in a beautiful little tutu and bouncing in her castle. Oh yes, there was a castle and so much more! {Thanks for letting me share some of your pictures Raquel!}
