camp Cole birthday party part I

My little boy just turned six. SIX! Oh my, it gives me heart palpitations just thinking about how much he’s grown. And this year for his birthday he wanted a camp party {All camp printable party supplies are available in the shoppe: invitation, thank you notes, printable party supplies, camp t-shirts}. My fabulous hubby built the boys a tree house last summer and we thought it was high time it got lots of use!

So you may remember that last year my oldest son’s Robot birthday party was in the middle of a monsoon… yes, it was that bad! Well, this year we had the worst storm of the season with 80 mile-an-hour straight line winds the night of our camp party. I know what you’re thinking… it doesn’t look bad in this picture?! Well, that is because this year I took my own advice and had a “rain date” on the invite. So we celebrated a day later than we planned… no biggie… at least we were dry. It was 98 degrees so we were a bit sweaty and couldn’t bring ourselves to light the fire for the s’ mores, but we were dry.

Moral of this story… be flexible moms and just have fun! {grin}

So there were games, lots of games. One legged races, Twister,

archery (NERF of course… and with his brother teasing him behind the balloon targets…), shooting gallery (NERF again), bean bag toss, and more.

And if you have party games, you must have awards. We had awards for every field game event, plus for being a good team player, best smile, awesome camper and on and on. No one was left out and the moms tell me they were a big hit!

Here’s my tutorial for making the crepe paper award medals and you can find the rounds, along with the game signs and all camp printable party supplies are available in the shoppe: invitation, thank you notes, printable party supplies, camp t-shirts}.

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the camp party decorations and more camp party ideas including the CAMP COLE Snack Shack! As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and CELEBRATE!

I’m truly excited about my newest collection, cowgirl.  We had so much fun mixing modern design elements like chevron with traditional cowgirl ropes and stars. It’s perfect for wild west cowgirl birthday parties and baby showers!

These are just a few of the printable items in this collection, several of which can be personalized.

Including our cupcake picks!

Mosey on over to the shoppe to see more of our cowgirl collection! Oh, and those mini pretzels are the new Keebler 100 Calorie White Chocolate Pretzel Right Bites. I used one bag per cello and they are yummy!

introducing Santa collection

I’m already head over heels in the Christmas spirit this year. I’ve even already started styling my Christmas cookie decorating party by creating new printables for my Santa collection! You see, each year, we invite 6-8 children and their moms over to decorate cookies for Santa a couple of days before the big guy arrives. It’s messy, the kids have a blast, I drink too much hot chocolate… it’s great!

So this year my designs are taking a page from Santa himself! And what’s better, they match our custom invitations! I’m mailing mine out next week and my oldest is addressing them (love to see a child’s handwriting on mail… especially to a Santa party!).

In addition to the Happy Ho Ho Holidays mat and the Santa beverage wrappers (on cappuccino bottles I picked up at Target), we also designed cupcake wrappers, and

dessert table tags, which could also be used as placecards!

You can see the entire collection in the shoppe! And make sure you check out our BELIEVE and Mod Candy Cane collections too! As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake and create!

introducing pumpkin patch

I’m just in love with the argyle pattern that we’ve used throughout our new Pumpkin Patch collection. It was the very first element that we designed and then the entire collection came together from there. I hope you love it as much as I do!

We shot this party (photography by my talented friend Angie of Angie Arthur Photography) at a lovely, and real, working farm only minutes from my house in Ohio. Freeman’s Farm is actually where we take our kids each October for hay rides, pumpkin picking, kettle korn, hot dogs by the campfire, scarecrow crafts. It’s a fabulous time and I highly recommend it if you live in the area.

This season just makes me smile. The chilly air, the vibrant leaves russling in the wind, all the final fresh produce of the year littering the fields. And I wanted this collection to be all those things, full of fall colors and elements, but then with the unexpected pops of blue like last year’s Harvest collection that featured the scarecrow.

Pumpkin Patch features a fun little hoot owl with an argyle sweater and the phrase HAPPY HARVEST. We designed beverage wrappers, cupcake picks and argyle cupcake wrappers (my favorite!),

we couldn’t resist a chevron pattern with pumpkins and “Happy Harvest”,

argyle napkin rings, a large hoot owl that we used as a photo prop, but that could also be used as backdrop or other decor,

dessert labels and fun “THANK HOO!” favor tags,

pattern flags or straw slips,

mini banner pennants (that include the owl and the pumpkins, as well as chevron, argyle and dot patterns),

cello toppers, and

a HAPPY HARVEST mat, which we used on this sweet little wagon full of our paper pumpkins. We shot this collection in July and there wasn’t a pumpkin in sight. Soooo what do crafters do when they can’t find what they need? Yep. We make it. {wink} Tutorial coming soon for the pumpkins and the apples you see in the dessert table backdrop.

And then there were the fabulously yummy butter cookies from our partners at Sweet Tooth Cottage. I just love that they were able to create him wearing his little sweater! {Thank you Sue!}

And I can’t resist sharing a few pics of our sweet little models

and their super silly faces. {LOVE this one!}

You can find the entire Pumpkin Patch collection in the shoppe early next week and as always, I hope you’re inspired! Happy Friday everyone!
