new space birthday collection!

I’m super excited about our newest birthday party collection. As anyone who visits even occasionally can tell you, I have a budding scientist on my hands (his science birthday party and the collection) and his latest love of the sciences has everything to do with space. I’m not sure if this will be the theme he settles on for his seventh birthday party in the fall, but he’s loving it for now!

The custom invitation and thank you notes are already in the shoppe and we’re styling the printables and table decor now with some fun treat and craft ideas. The printables will include our normal beverage wrappers to dessert tags and we’ve thrown in a few new ones like astronaut patches and gable box favor labels.

Visit us here, on facebook and on twitter over the next several days for updates on the photo shoot, crafts and yummy treat ideas. And as always, I hope you’re inspired!

introducing Tree House

We created and shot our new Tree House collection (a look at the storyboard) back in late October. With beautiful Ohio foliage as a backdrop and a crisp cool breeze, there was no need to ask the kids to play together. It just happened so naturally and the day turned into a real playdate. I think they barely noticed us.

They picked wild flowers, giggled into tin can phones, snacked on goodies and played hide-and-seek. They truly had a good time, which of course made our jobs so much easier.

This collection offers invitations, thank you cards, as well as all the coordinating printable party supplies for a fabulous birthday party, or even a playdate. Who says playdates can’t be dressed up a bit, especially when your little one’s birthday is in the winter and they never get outdoor parties?! I was born in February so I know what I’m talking about! {wink}

I think the thing I love best about this collection is our tag message, “Come out and play.” It cuts across genders and age ranges and offers a theme, but with endless possibilities. It’s so perfect for a backyard bash AND for jazzing up those boring blank rooms that the indoor playhouse companies give you to serve cake to your guests (which by the way was a friend’s original request that brought this collection into being).

The gable box lunches help make the hostess’ life a bit easier too. Pack individual lunches (mini PB&J bagel sandwiches, apple slices, mini water bottle and maybe a cookie) for each guest and arrange them on a small table. Food is taken care of! If you have a large group in the outdoors consider telling everyone to bring a picnic blanket or set out a few of your own in a basket for guests to select from. (Note: The gable box wrappers are the only items in the collection that require 11×14 paper, but you could print just the center on 8.5×11 and apply only to the front of your gable box.)

To complement the lunch box we designed beverage wrappers (two designs, kite and tree house) that also doubled as our wrappers for the tin can crayon holder, but are also perfect as large flat napkin rings. Other printable items include dessert/food labels, favor tags (shown below), banner, as well as large die cuts of the kite, clouds and “kids only” sign. Plus, those mini-flags are actually our straw slips. They’re perfect for embellishing sandwiches and wrapping around straws to help little guests remember which cup is theirs.

I’m really proud of our cupcake wrappers and picks. I added a tail to my kite cupcakes using a bit of white floral wire (for stiffness) and tiny bow tie shapes cut from the straw slips. In addition to cupcakes we also made no-bake cookies, calling them “mud pies,” and Reese’s Cup s ‘mores. Oh my they were good!

And for favors, the collection offers tree house cello toppers and kite favor tags, plus fabulous cookies from our partners at Sweet Tooth Cottage bakery. What better way to send your guests home than with a yummy, and beautiful, cookie to remember you by! The collection offers cutouts (tree houses, kites and “kids only” planks) and sugar paper rounds (tree house in green and kite in blue) baked and shipped directly from the bakery. And if your kiddos have food allergies or you just like to bake, you can buy the printed sugar paper sheets and make your own.

You can find the entire Tree House collection, including the cookies, in our shoppe. And I just want to thank Amy Atlas Events for sharing the first images of this new collection in her post on Friday. As always, I hope you’re inspired!

peek at our newest collection

I’m so excited to be announcing a new collection this afternoon. It was originally concepted and designed for a friend, Natalie Klein of Hot Moms Club. She has two toddlers, a boy and a girl, and wanted to throw a joint birthday party at a popular indoor playhouse. Immediately you can see the challenge. Hosting a party that both of her babes would love without the use of pink tutus or racecars. Well at the end of the day I feel we came up with the perfect solution with our new Tree House collection.

Stay tuned for tons of fun photography of a ”real” playdate at a magical tree house. Here’s a peek at the storyboard of the invitation and the printables while you wait! And as always, I hope you’re inspired!

introducing BELIEVE

believe-table-tag-s

I’m so very proud to introduce BELIEVE as our 57th collection! BELIEVE offers an elegant palette for cookie parties, cocktail parties, family gatherings and even charitable events. In addition to the custom invitations and thank you cards, and silver square dinner and dessert plates, this collection has several printable components as well. Above you can see our 8×10 “BELIEVE!” mat, which we used on our dessert table flanked by two silver serving trays topped with shimmering Christmas trees and our ”BELIEVE!” tag, perfect for favors or even Christmas presents from Santa!

table-setting-collage-s

Our beverage wrappers are not only great for wrapping wine and water bottles, they are also perfect for embellishing your centerpieces. We chose silver branches from the craft store to give the table a little pop. We also designed beverage markers so you won’t lose your glass of wine and beautiful placecards to help your guests’ find their seats.

believe-thank-you

Who said favors had to be expensive to be dazzling?! I chose a simple ornament favor idea to showcase our square “Thank You” favor tags for this collection: silver and red glitter ornaments tied with beautiful shimmering ribbon.

wishing-jar-collage-s

And if you’re a hostess that likes to have an activity or two up her sleeve, my ”Fondest Christmas Memory” printable kit (includes 5×7 mat, the square BELIEVE favor tags and blank snowflake cards) will help get all your guests in the spirit. The idea is that everyone writes down their fondest memory, places it in the jar and then later in the evening you can read them aloud and let everyone guess who wrote the memory. Mine is from the Christmas just before I turned nine. My brother and I sat at the kitchen table for hours coloring pictures from a coloring book. Then we cut them all out and hung them on the tree as ornaments. They clashed a little with all of my mom’s lovely ornaments, but in true mom style she left them on the tree for the entire holiday season and still has a few of them in her holiday ”happy boxes” as she calls them.

dessert-table-collage3

And what dinner party is complete without a dessert bar?! Our collection offers a “Warm Up” beverage mat perfect when you’re serving hot cocoa or even a warm toddy, dessert labels (six pre-filled plus a blank sheet so that you can overprint your own desserts), and cello toppers embellished with “Thank You” so you can send your guests home with a few sweet treats, like the yummy hand-iced melt-in-your-mouth butter cookies from our partners at Sweet Tooth Cottage. You’ll find these lovely cookies with the rest of the collection in our shoppe. (Read more about cookie sizes, ingredients, shipping and packaging on our About Us page.)

believe-cupcakes2

And it just wouldn’t be complete without cupcake picks and wrappers! Look for the entire collection in the shoppe with 50% off the printable collection original price through Cyber Monday! As always, I hope you’re inspired.

send them home with prepackaged goodies in our cello toppers that say “Have a sweet day!” (Our partners at Sweet Tooth Cottage ships our cookies in heat sealed cello bags–for freshness as they have no preservatives–that are the perfect fit for our cello topper printables. All you’ll need to do is print and attach. And remember, shipping is included in our Sweet Tooth Cottage pricing as they ship directly from the bakery and separate from the rest of your order. E-mail us at customercare@celebrationshoppe.com with any quesitons.)

the-celebration-shoppe-mod-candy-cane-table1

Here’s a look at how beautiful your table can be with a little DIY inginuity. Our “Sweet Spot” sign is attached to a small white dowel wrapped in red ribbon for that candy cane effect. Much less sticky than the real thing. And our cake plate centerpiece is made of large plastic snowflake ornaments stacked on top of one another and balanced on a square white cake plate that was flipped on its end. In the top shot you see that we used the bottom tier for our cookie rounds (printed sugar paper with the same designs as our cupcake rounds). I also used those same large snowflake ornaments under and on several of the other plates on the table to break up the solid white tablecloth and hung them from the ceiling on clear fishing line to give the table height.

the-celebration-shoppe-mod-candy-cane-welcome-sign1

Last in the line-up, but the first thing to greet your guests is our “Welcome” sign. It’s 8×10 and can either be trimmed out as we have done (hung with a beverage wrapper) or matted in a white frame. Or even hung over a beautiful white wreath on the front door.

harvest collection, part II

the-celebration-shoppe-harvest-collection_desserttabletags

Now that dessert tables are all the rage, brought on by the talented Amy Atlas, all of our new collections offer dessert table tags, coordinating pattern mats and sometimes frame mattes with clever sayings. For the Harvest collection there are two styles of dessert tags: the pumpkin (above) and the scarecrow (below). (See what you missed in the part I post!)

the-celebration-shoppe-harvest-collection_placecard

These tags are also adorable as placecards, especially when tied to a yummy caramel apple and embellished with ribbon!

and these. I love the plaid! (See the mat underneath the cookie. It comes with the printable collection, as does the blue gingham!)

the-celebration-shoppe-harvest-collection_cellotopper

And you can’t forget the favors. Our cellos for this collection are the perfect palette for fall candy. We used M&Ms and Reeces Cups, both a perfect match!

the-celebration-shoppe-harvest-collection_favortag

We also have pumpkin favor tags. I attached them to lollipop sticks, embellished them with ribbon and speared a caramel and chocolate drizzle apple. But you could just as easily tie them to a goody bag, or insert them in a pail of goodies. The possibilities are truly endless with a little imagination!

And round out your table with our napkin rings (both the pumpkin and scarecrow designs available) plus

Beverage wrappers are a must to tie your table together and these are perfect for sodas and water bottles. Or bring your centerpiece in by using these wrappers to dress up a hurricane filled with your favorite fall treats or flowers.

And who can forget these adorable straw slips that make finding your drink so much easier?! I suggest tying the straw on with yellow raffia allowing your guests to select a beverage and get back to mingling quickly, plus it really helps keep down lines if you’re serving buffet style.

So many more photos to come and thanks to all of you who have been patient with us as we bring this collection to life. I realize Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away in Canada so we will be working diligently to get the entire collection into the shoppe quickly!

spooky Halloween printables

the-celebration-shoppe_spookedpumpkingreenwitch1

In the past few weeks we’ve announced our new Candy Corn Halloween collection, full of trick-or-treating ghosts and screech owls, and showed you glimpses of our new Harvest collection, with a colorful scarecrow and pumpkin that will be perfect for a fall festival or even to decorate the kid’s Thanksgiving table. This morning I want to share our spookier side with some new printables we created to complement our Spooked Pumpkin and Martinis & Mayhem collections.

the-celebration-shoppe-spooked-pumpkin-green-purple-witch-sisters

Meet the sinister sisters. They are totally up to no good! But with a pumpkin spice cupcake topped with cream cheese icing my boys and a few wanders by can testify that they taste super yummy! {wink}  You’ll notice that these are not your typical cupcake picks. I wanted to do something a little different so we created the head and the hat separately to give the sisters a real 3-D effect when you use a adhesive square to attach the hat. (There are four designs. Two purple/orange witches, one smiling and one frowning, and two green/black witches doing the same.) I really, really love these!

the-celebration-shoppe-spooked-pumpkin-try-one-if-you-dare-tag

In addition to the witches, we also created these coordinating tags “Try one if you dare…” and

the-celebration-shoppe-spooked-pumpkin-have-sweet-my-pretty-tag

“Have a sweet, my pretty!” {witch cackling}

the-celebration-shoppe-spooked-pumpkin-mat

We also created this hilarious mat that would be perfect on your treat table next to uniced cupcakes for the kids to decorate themselves.

the-celebration-shoppe-spooked-pumpkin-purple-witch-w-mat

Or next to the sisters! Doesn’t the little pumpkin look afraid of her?! Eeekkkk!

the-celebration-shoppe-spooked-pumpkin-green-witch-sisters1

And here are the two green/black sisters together. Like my crow? Well you’re lucky to be seeing him. I had a few things stashed for the shoot and my little ones decided to have a mini-war with the crows. Needless to say, there were casualties…

the-celebration-shoppe_spookedpumpkinpurplewitch

And here’s the purple/orange sister with the “Have a sweet, my pretty!” as a cupcake pick.

the-celebration-shoppe_spookedpumpkincello

Last, but not least, here’s our cello topper. These would be perfect for pre-packaged little favors for party guests or even trick-or-treaters. I’ll be filling mine with gummy worms as those are one of my youngest son’s favorites!

All these will be added to the Spooked Pumpkin and Martinis & Mayhem collections the week of Sept. 13. And as always, I hope you’re inspired!

introducing “candy corn”

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection

We’ve been working on our new Candy Corn Halloween collection for weeks (along with several others) and sharing little peeks here and there. Well, I’m finally ready to show it all off! Just in case you didn’t see the peeks of the invitation and the cupcakes, here they are again.

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_cake

I started this project at the fabric store. I’m a huge fan of coordinating patterns, without all the matchy matchy. I selected a diamond pattern for the background and a polka dot for the table. You’ve not seen it yet, but the invitation back carries this same diamond pattern and if you look closely you’ll see a faint polka dot pattern on the front of the invitation along with a filigree pattern along the borders. Our inspiration for this collection was the desire to host a Halloween bash that is fun for the kids, but with a few semi-sophisticated elements for the adults. And since dessert tables are all the rage, we of course created one we thought was just boo-tiful.

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_diy-dessert-table-tags1

We created dessert labels starring our little owl and offer them both pre-filled and blank so you can choose your own spooky treats. For the candy corn shown above, I picked up shallow round bowls and embellished them with candy corn ribbon. (The kids loved swinging by during the shoot to grab a piece or two!)

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_gummyworms

And since my youngest has terrible food allergies, we just had to have gummy worms.

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_bannerall

To further bring the dessert table to life we created a flag banner using candy corn patterns, stripes and our ghost and owl designs.

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_ghost

But I couldn’t leave it there. Nope! I loved the little ghost so much that we created a large one (available in the shoppe too) to hang over the dessert table. I used four of them!

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_cello2

We also created cello toppers, and

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_favorboxesside

“thanks for dropping in” favor tags for the collection. I love the idea of using these to give the neighbor kids something special on Halloween night this year!

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_favorboxtagonly

Here’s a closer look at just the tag. (If you like the spider, you’ve got to see our Boo collection.)

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_beverage-wrap2

And you can’t have a complete dessert table without the beverages. We chose Stewart’s old fashioned soda drinks because they were the perfect orange to match our decor. Plus, the hubby loves them!

So you’ve seen a few glimpses of some fabulous cookies. Let me tell you, they are not only beautiful but they are the best butter cookies I’ve ever eaten. The very talented Sue at Sweet Tooth Cottage is the sugar artist behind these. I gave her my designs and she not only printed some on sugar paper and embellished them wtih these super fun dots, but she also made, yes made, cookie cutters to fit my designs and then hand iced each cookie. She’s not shipping cookies just yet, but I’m working on her! More to come on that, but until then, here are a few more shots of her lovely creations.

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_owl-cookie1

I have to point out that I made the holes in these cookies for the ribbon post-bake. Meaning these cookies were soft enough for a straw to go through them after they were iced. I swear they will melt in your mouth!

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_stc-ghost-cookies

Here’s a look at the ghost cookies. You already know how partial I am to him!

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_stc-candy-corn-owl-cookie-sp2

And here’s a look at the sugar paper cookies. I love the cutouts, but I have to say there is something about seeing my designs on a cookie like this! And for those of you who are wondering about sugar paper, everyone at the shoot thought they were just as yummy as the cutouts.

the-celebration-shoppe-candy-corn-collection_lollipops

I have lots more pictures to share tomorrow of all the crafts (cake plate, witch hat, Halloween masks, dish towel child apron, crepe covered vase) we made for the shoot, but I thought I would leave you with the lollipops (above) and the kids having a blast telling knock knock jokes while they waited for us (below). As for the lollipops, I’m always looking for unique ways to use our printables, so I whipped up these lollipops with strips of crepe paper, double sided tape and our cupcake pick rounds. They were a huge hit and so very simple.
