pink & brown tablescape

babybump_feature1

We often get calls from customers asking about items in photos that we used for staging, but don’t sell in the shoppe,  so I’m going to start doing a better job of giving you all the details. We staged our new baby bump shower a few weeks ago. Most of the items we offer in our decor, but here are the few things we don’t:

Placemats – these are just 12×12 sheets of DCWV (Die Cuts With A View) Glitter Pink-Brown Flower Dots cardstock from the craft store.

Candy vase – I was browsing the candy store (as I do too often) and ran across these strawberry flavored malted milk balls. Well after I thought “yummy!” I thought how adorable they could be in the new baby bump tablescape. So long story short, I melted down some pink chocolate, covered a few pretzel rods, sprinkled them with pink crystals (available in the shoppe) and settled them into a ribbon embellished short vase of strawberry flavored malted milk balls.

tulle-napkin-ring-tutorial

Tulle napkin ring – I was browsing for inspiration for our new black & yellow buzz theme and ran across a table setting that used a black chrysanthemum as a napkin ring. It was really beautiful so I thought about trying to find one at the craft store. I wasn’t in luck so I decided to make my own version for baby bump using pink tulle. To make these yourself you’ll need pink glitter tulle and florist wire. And here are the easy step-by-steps:

  1. Cut 12 4×4″ squares of tulle and stack them.
  2. Fold the group like an accordian.
  3. Pinch them in the center and wrap them with a small piece of florist wire.
  4. Trim the ends as shown.
  5. Cut a straight line between each fold to the florist wire separating the folds into individual petals.
  6. Carefully separate the individual petals and pull upward to give the flower fullness.

It takes a little patience, but it’s worth it… don’t you think. {wink}

It will have your guests buzzing with anticipation! {wink}

We’re finalizing a new design and I couldn’t wait to share. This new baby shower theme will not only offer our custom invitations and thank you cards, we’re also creating a printables collection for it that will include cupcake wrappers, cupcake picks, water bottle wrappers and candy bar favor wrappers. It’s going to be beautiful! The shot just below the thank you card is a snipit of the water bottle wrapper.

I’ve scheduled a photo shoot for Monday and I’m pushing to make it available in the shoppe by the end of next week. I would love to know what you think! BTW, it’s a little fuzzy because I took a screen print of a pdf… I was that excited to share it. {wink}

crashing witch cupcakes

the-celebration-shoppe-crashing-witch-cupcake

Having a little fun with my boys this weekend we created our version of the crashing witch cupcake to go with our Halloween decor. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • can white icing
  • orange food coloring
  • black writing icing tube
  • tangerine candy cane (or any other flavor you want)
  • Starburst (one square per shoe)
  • resealable freezer weight bags
  • #233 grass tip
  • connector
  • black and orange sprinkles

And here are the super simple steps:

  1. Ice your cupcake with white icing and sprinkle with orange and black dots.
  2. Tint a heaping tablespoon of icing orange and place in a resealable bag with a #233 tip (grass tip) and a connector.
  3. Pipe her ragged dress in the center of the cupcake.
  4. Break your candy cane in half.
  5. Heat two Starburst in the microwave for 8-10 seconds and then mold them into the shape of shoes on the candy cane ends.
  6. Pipe shoe laces onto the shoes with the tube of black writing icing. (Allow it to set for a few minutes before inserting it into your cupcake so that it doesn’t run.)
  7. Insert your witch legs (AKA candy canes) into the center of your cupcake.

Hope you love making these as much as we did. Happy baking!

introducing on the farm

Each time we launch a new party theme I develop a new favorite. It’s likely because I spend so much time with it from idea conception to development to decor selection to the photo shoot to blogging about it to launch. Our “on the farm” birthday party theme is no exception.

And this time we took it one step further with a printable collection of craft templates for cupcake wrappers, cupcake picks, napkin rings and goody box tags. Each craft is as easy as print, cut and tape/glue and can be found with all the table decor in our shoppe.

farm-animal-cupcakes

I personally think that the cupcake wrappers and picks will become a quick favorite for those of us who shudder at the thought of baking a themed birthday cake. And even if you don’t mind baking, these simple crafts take all the stress out of it with an adorable outcome.

 Okay, so how cute is the cow (sheep and pig) napkin rings; I mean really. {wink} And last but not least, sweet little “thanks y’all” tag embellishments for the red gable goody boxes.

And here are a few more items to round out the table: beverage bucket (bottles embellished with printable collection napkin rings), tractor cookie cutter and serving platter.

As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!

I know I’ve been missing in action this week and I apologize, but I promise it was for good reason. Here’s a preview of the two new birthday party invitation designs that will launch early next week.

The first is brand new and I loving call “down on the farm.” Don’t you just love the little pig in his mud puddle?! And I can’t wait to share the creative table decor, goody box and cupcake wrappers.

And the second, “princess castle,” is an adaption of our “prince & princess” theme. This one has much more pink and yes, it is missing the fire breathing dragon!

I’ll post a big announcement as soon as they’re a go. Wish us luck with the photo shoot this weekend; my weather man says it might rain…

new goody gable boxes

zebra-and-polka-dot-gable-box

We’ve had several customer inquires about the zebra print shown in our photography with our fuchsia pink and black decor (divine, blossoms, bubbly) so we thought we would add a cool zebra print gable box to our collection. These boxes are wonderful not only for gifting, but also for displaying food or creating a centerpiece with flowers (vase inserted inside to keep the flowers fresh).

And we’re also adding a new red and white polka dot gable box for our movie night theme and for Christmas. It could even be fun for our pirate themes (pirate ship and pirate skull).

Enjoy and keep the questions coming. If you want it we want to offer it!

I was Googling {it’s now a verb!} around and came across a very fun picture of a pirate birthday party. I clicked to see more and realized it was our table decor, pirate ship, gable favor boxes (can’t take credit for the fun stickers) and polka dot & stripe black candles.  It’s rare that we get to see what magic moms put together when they buy our supplies and I have to admit I giggled a little. I still love love love that moms like our designs and decor enough to want it for their little ones. Anyway, I digress! Here is the beautiful pirate birthday party for two twin boys from the erinandaaron.com blog.

As I mentioned, the party was for twins so they not only had this beautiful cake for guests, but they made it very special and had individual cakes for the boys. {There are our candles!}
