western party favor ideas

Hi everyone! It’s Bridget again. Kim is still recouping from her son’s Robot birthday party (so much to share!) on Sunday so I thought I would share a bit more about the planning for my youngest daughter’s upcoming  birthday party in October. Last week I shared the theme and a few of the things inspiring me.

And this morning, with bandanas, boots and buckaroos still on the brain, here are some fabulous favor ideas:

  • Hobo sticks filled with toys and treats from super mom, photographer and blogger Kelly Hampton. (This entire party was fabulous and she made almost everything herself!)
  • Cute and functional, these Wanted placemat posters  from Mini Mocha are fun.
  • Trail mix bags (brown lunch bags tied with raffia and a darling tag) again from Kelly Hampton.
  • Adrian of Canyon Photography picked up simple dollar bin felt barns from Target added a few animals and sent each child home with a miniature petting zoo! (via Chickabug)
  • Adorable stick ponies to fill the pony corral from Pluff Mud Studio

As always, we hope you’re inspired!

These mini gumball machines are perfect favors for the July 4th holiday! It’s not always necessary to give favors, especially at low-key family gatherings like most of us will host this weekend, but if you can squeeze it into the budget, it sure can be fun

And what’s better, they can be placecards when dressed up with our FREE printables. We designed placecards/favor tags, straw slips and napkin rings for our contributing article with Mom magazine. Download your templates now. And as always, I hope you’re inspired!

DIY bird house favor boxes

Leoni of Just Call Me Martha posted a sweet note on my facebook page a few weeks ago and with a blog name like that I of course had to take a look. This fabulous idea for a bird house favor box was one of the first things I came across and I was totally smitten. Using a template from Torie Jayne’s blog she created six little treat boxes for her niece Jasmine’s birdy birthday party.

Make sure you hop over to Just Call Me Martha for all the how to details and to see more of the beautiful bird inspired party Leoni hosted for her niece! {Thanks Leoni for letting me share!}

As always I hope you’re inspired!

what’s in the box?!

I just got back home from a three-day trip to New York City for a fabulous Martha Stewart Dreamers Into Doers conference. I’m still reeling from all the super talented women I had the great fortune to meet and spend time with. I’ll share much more in a few days, but for now I want to tell you about the surprise I received when I got home. I’m used to boxes, lots of boxes, passing through my office but most are not that interesting. Inventory, a new vendor catalog, you know the drill. But this time it was something just for me from the fabulous sponsors of next week’s Blissdom conference in Nashville.

I was like a kid opening a candy bar… or maybe like my normal self opening a candy bar… anyway there were several wonderful surprises inside from vendors like Con Agra, Intel, Freschetta and Hallmark. The recipe binder from Con Agra has such yummy looking recipes, the pizza cutter, which I’ll likely use tonight for family movie night, from Freschetta was fun, but my absolute favorite item in that box was the Recordable Storybook from Hallmark. Coming off of a trip where I missed my boys terribly (one of the main reasons I left corporate life) this was the perfect gift to hedge my anxiety about leaving them again next week. My boys were so ecstatic about the book too. They love books in general, but when they found out that I could still read them a story each night before they went to bed (2-3 a night is a tradition around here) they were beyond thrilled. I loved watching their little faces light up. Thank you Hallmark for the All The Ways I Love You book by Theresa Trinder! It is truly perfect for all of us moms. By the way, whoever on your marketing team thought this up needs a raise! Absolutely perfect!

And for those of you that don’t know about Blissdom, a fabulous blogger conference, it might be too late for you to plan to attend this year, but there is always next year!
