The 2Q 2010 issue of Mom magazine showcases our bugs & butterflies birthday party collection. Mom editors used our collection to style a ”real” planting birthday party they hosted using the Mini-farm Box growing kit. {Excited giggle!}

I have a serious case of Spring fever and the only thing I could think of to curb a very strong desire to book a flight to a tropical island was to blog about a beautiful Spring birthday party. I envision a backyard soiree complete with 75 degree weather, cucumber sandwiches, pretty Spring colored dresses and giggling girls.

Not all birthday parties have to be bright primary colors, especially before your little one is old enough to have his/her own opinion about the theme and decor {wink}. So if you have a very busy bee running (or crawling) around your house, consider some of these fabulous ideas:

I get a little clostrophobic this time of year. I’m originally from the South, where flowers are starting to pop out of the ground by now, while I sit here snowed in up to my ears… Oh well. Expanding our bugs & butterflies collection is my way of kicking the season off early in my winter wonderland.
Plus, I’m so excited to announce that Mom magazine will be featuring this collection in the 2Q 2010 issue. I can’t wait to see how their photo shoot goes on Monday and share images with you! While we wait, here are a few pics from ours.
I’m really loving the mix of patterns in our new bugs & butterflies cupcake picks and cupcake wrappers. They go so well with the new mix of color plaid plates and napkins. By the way, when you buy this template you’ll receive all four designs so you can just mix and match away!
Here’s a close up of the cupcake design with the green and white stripe wrappers.
And here’s a close up of the cupcake set made from the yellow beehive design.
We also created straw slips. This is just one of the four patterns you’ll receive with the template. Others include green and white polka dot with butterflies, yellow and green polka dots, and green and white stripes. Each has space to write the child’s name or you can just use the colors to mark the cups.
And we tried out a few napkin rings for the Mom magazine photo shoot, settling on the green and white dragonfly version. But what this means for you is that you get all three with one template. {wink}
The other standard you’ll likely find with all of our future collections is the placecard/food and candy table markers. Are these not adorable?!
Oh, and we can’t forget favors. We created bugs & butterflies cello bag toppers.
