ice cream cone balloon craft

For our recent ice cream social party collection shoot with Angie Arthur Photography, I whipped up a simple and fun DIY ice cream cone balloon craft that’s just perfect for summer!

I used a Balloon Time Tank, polka dot balloons and party hats (why try to make a cone with scrapbook paper when you can pick up party hats already assembled!) from Target, ribbon, and pom poms.

It was super simple to assemble and oh so cute! (Attach the pom pom with a dot of glue.)

The fabulous people from Balloon Time are giving two lucky readers a 30 Helium Balloon Kit voucher {valued at $20} good for tank, balloons and ribbon. {Open to U.S. residents only.}

peek into ice cream shoot

Wow has this week gone by in a blur! We had a new collection shoot on Tuesday (sharing the invitation next week), I’m prepping for my youngest son’s fifth birthday party this weekend (last year’s was the dino-ROAR), I’m working on giving my girl here {my blog} a face lift, and I now have images to share from our ice cream collection shoot a few weeks ago. I truly love being busy, but I think I might take a day off soon. Whew!

So this is just one of the fun pics Angie of Angie Arthur Photography captured that day. It was a bit hazy and we actually got rained on a few times, but she still managed to capture the day beautifully. This particular shot is of my friend’s daughter holding our new popsicle butter cookie {baked and shipped from our partners at Sweet Tooth Cottage; purchased with the collection in the shoppe} and she’s wearing a sweet little dress from Sew Jewell on Etsy (it along with a few other things from the shoot will be in her shop on Monday).

I have lots to share next week including some fun DIY so stay tuned! And as always, I hope you’re inspired!

you scream, I scream

We’re working on three fabulous summer collections right now, all being shot in the month of June. Needless to say we’re crazy busy, but honestly I’m loving it. The craft room and studio are full of DIY ideas and props and my kitchen is a mess some days as I work to come up with fun new treats.

We actually shot this new ice cream collection over a week ago. The invitation and thank you are now in the shoppe and I can’t wait to show you all the DIY ideas, including our printables collection, and an adorable monogrammed ice cream cone t-shirt in a few days!

As always, I hope you’re inspired!

ice cream serving ideas

ice-cream-serving-tips

We all love to serve ice cream at birthday parties and summer gatherings, but sometimes it’s really difficult to serve quickly and before it melts. These two ideas from Country Living are perfect ways to simplify the sundae.

For the cones, they write “Dressing up a dozen cones before the party starts streamlines the dessert-bar process. To make these treats – think of them as environmentally friendly bowls and toppings all in one – just dip each cone in melted white or milk chocolate and roll in tiny marshmallows, coconut flakes, chopped nuts, crushed cookies, or candy chips. Set out a selection of ice cream flavors chilled in a tub of ice, and dessert is done – without your taking a single order.” All I would add is to refreeze them on a platter once decorated so that they are good and set before you serve them in the hot summer sun.

For the ice cream bowls served in a chilled tub, they share their Praline Ice Cream recipe. Yum!
