scoop and roll

Pre-dip ice creamFrom mom to mom… save yourself during a sugar rush (of small humans running your way that is) by pre-dipping the ice cream before your party. I use a medium size ice cream scoop, the ones with the antifreeze centers are the best, to scoop the balls. Before you refreeze, roll them in sprinkles and insert a wooden spoon (the kind we used as kids if you have them). Doing this ahead of time not only allows you to serve refreshments faster during the party, it also allows you to control the sprinkle mess.

Or, if you prefer the cone, you could still pre-scoop the ice cream and refreeze it. To help minimize dripping, melt some chocolate, dip the end of the cone and roll it in the sprinkles. Either way, the kids will think you’re a genius.
